June Lake

Pretty chill day today. We got packed up and headed north on 395.

We paid over $6/gal for gas at one place, so we didn't feel bad about filling up almost a gallon's worth of insulated water bottles with ice.

We have had super helpful and nice camp hosts both nights so far. That's usually the case, but Julie is still traumatized from the rule-Nazi camp host at Big Bend, WV.

We got a site at the Oh Ridge (show me your ridge face?) campground on June Lake. This is where the movie Oblivion was filmed. We went to pick up lunch in town after securing our spot, and then ate it at our site overlooking the lake before heading down to the beach. Jaron wants you to know that he got in up to his knees while Julie only went ankle-deep.

It will get down to 40 overnight, so we will get to test out our 20 degree sleeping quilts.

Last night's low was 68 and we were in the straight up desert. So we are experiencing two very different climes today.

We got some clouds but no rain, and got a really pretty sunset out of the deal.
