Thru Vermont
Miles today:
We headed north for breakfast in Lake George and could definitely feel the New Yorker efficiency here. Order before you sit down. Step over here. Wait here for the coffee. Tell me when on the creamer. And there was an Asian family in several tables next to us and they were googling menu items, which was adorable bc that's exactly what I do when I get ethnic cuisine!
It rained on us off and on all day, nothing to...write home about, ha ha. It cooled the temperature down which was nice. The roads were great, and some slowpoke vans and trucks pulled over to let us pass.
Checked in at Silver Maple Lodge in Fairlee, VT where we have a cottage for 5 nights. Julie did a quick load of laundry at the laundromat a literal 2 min walk away, and we headed out for dinner. It turns out that the Chinese restaurant no longer does dine-in due to COVID, and you have to call to order. 🙄 I guess I'll have to call to verify that from now on! We didn't have lunch today since we had a late bkst so we were getting close to the danger zone, and Julie was going to be happy to eat on the curb. A local warned us it would be 20 min and recommended a place we could walk to. We walked in and the matre D recommended that we wouldn't have to wait for a table if we went upstairs. We were like whatever, but on reflection, there were available tables downstairs and it's kind of unlikely that they were fully booked in a small town on a Tuesday. So we're thinking we looked too scraggly to sit in the main dining room, despite the fact that our motorcycle gear is likely the most expensive suits in the restaurant. We got to sit at a table in the upstairs bar so that was fine.
We hit the store on the way home for breakfast and s'more materials for our kitchenette. We have a fireplace, but Jaron didn't want to heat it up inside so Julie is happy to make s'mores on the stove, just like at home. 🤣
Jaron's phone finally died. He has had it for 5 years. A bit later it was working again, but not all of the screen is responding. So he will be going to Manchester tomorrow to get a new phone while Julie goes to the first warm-up ride of the women's training event. He didn't have any rally events tomorrow so that's not so bad.

Womp womp...can't post videos from the phone. Guess I'll have to do that when I get home.
Five nights at the lodge will give you a chance to relax some. Enjoy!
