Laundry day. Got bkst at noon while our clothes washed. Man, as soon as Jaron leaves me alone, the vultures descend. After several minutes of frustrated sounds, a middle aged man asked me if I could "show him the ropes for how to to do this" [laundry]. I was kind of surprised and he shakes a box of powdered soap at me and says, do I put this in here, or in this drawer? I said my husband started ours (true), sorry, we don't use that kind of soap (also true). I'd had my back to him folding my clothes at a table near the wall. There were a lot of other women he could have asked other than me and he just seemed like an angry creeper. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I actually don't know where you should put powdered soap in a front load washer, so I wasn't just being a bitch, either.

Onward to Copper Harbor today. The temp on the upper peninsula has been, on average, 5 degrees lower than on the mainland. Lows in the mid 50's and highs in the mid 70's. Well, today it got up to 91 and did not start cooling down until 5:00. (That hot day we had last week was in Ohio.) Between that and walking to bkst in mc pants and doing laundry w/ no AC, it's been a schweddy day.

I'm getting tired of the "aren't you hot in all of that gear" bullshit comments. Or "it must be cold out." Where this is going is that people who wear mc gear are dumb/pussies/uncool. It's impossible to not be hot in 91 degrees. 🙄 Sometimes I say something witty (not too hot for me!). Sometimes I say not really and show them the vents. Now I'm just ignoring them. And it's really easy to ignore jackasses when you're wearing your helmet inside. Today Jaron goes "thank you for your concern" after we passed a a caring person in a car who had only our comfort in mind. Do I ask people wearing half (or no) helmets if they like their face the way it is? Do I tell riders in tshirts that they must like skin grafts? If I did, they'd say they're free to choose whether to wear a helmet and what kind. 🤔 Funny how that works. I guess the thing that irritates me is that it's exactly like short jokes. Yep, heard that one before. No, you're not clever. So...just shut the fuck up and mind your own business. Argh.

BUT, we found the only curvy road in Michigan!

Got checked in at our cottage and walked to dinner. Julie got fish chowder that you could float a quarter in. Maybe even a silver dollar.

And watched the sun set.
